ANGER REPLACED; BLOG #2365; FRI AUG 26, 2022

THE COMEBACK:

JUSTIN TRUDEAU IS A LOSER! AM I RIGHT?

THE MESSAGE:

A wise person once said it perfectly. “Anger is a feeling that causes your mouth to work before your mind!” Pressure turns to stress when you feel you are wronged or being treated unfairly. Everyone reacts differently to what we perceive as unbearable experiences. Common stressors include competitive sports, issues at work, relationships, teens, money matters, future plans and driving in crowded urban areas. Stress can affect how you feel, think, and behave. It can also impact how your body functions. Common signs of stress include, one or more of the following; anger, anxiety, rants and difficulty concentrating. It is worth taking the time to teach yourself new and different strategies and techniques for managing your stress prior to serious consequences to your mental and physical well-being.

TONY TODAY:

FOR ATHLETES.

A Good time to reflect on anger management is sitting in the dressing room before a game. Review the previous game experiences and analyze where and why you went wrong.

FOR  RELATIONSHIPS.

Take the time to reflect after a particularly heated argument and before the next meeting.

FOR PARENTS.

Ask questions to help your child understand other people’s perspectives and use healthy communication or problem-solving. For example, you could ask, "What could you say to him?" "How is she likely to react if you do that?" "What can we do to prevent this from happening again?" or "What could you do to make things a little bit better right now?”
Responding to children's anger with gentleness and compassion makes it easier for children to deal with strong feelings and think things through. Angry or punitive responses to children's anger, on the other hand, add to the children's stress when they're already feeling overwhelmed.

FOR DRIVERS

Remember that you don't own the road. Others may be  more cautious, less hurried, less aggressive, more patient, more polite or more stupid. Pedestrians and bikers should be allowed to share the roadway.

FOR EMPLOYEES.

Use some time after diner and away from work to confer with an empathetic ear and remember the maxim  "think it through."

TONY'S STRESS MANAGEMENT LIST

FEEL!
When you feel yourself getting angry, take a mental step back, take a deep breath and simply say to yourself “Relax.” It should instantly lower your stress.

REPEAL!
What’s upsetting you. If you’re not going to be upset about it in an hour, in a day, or in a week, it’s not worth being upset about now. So, let it go.

THINK!
How to change it rather than wasting your energy on being angry about it.

TALK!
To yourself about being angry, “I’m leaving this behind, and I’m not going to worry about it anymore.” Play or work harder!

WALK!

"Walk Away" from it. Take a break.

DISMISS!
If you let go of your anger, you’ll be happier and stay younger longer.
