LIVE A LITTLE; BLOG# 2335; FRI JAN 28,2022

THE COMEBACK:

I’M NOT AS DUMB AS I LOOK

HOW COULD YOU BE?

THE MESSAGE:

Excerpts from my wife Ann Marie’s speech on our 50th wedding anniversary.

1. In1964 I was at the top of my game. I had all the answers; I owned the world and the road ahead was paved with gold. I was so in love.

2. But I must confess, I don't have all the answers. I have learned that in order to have all the answers you have to first know the questions; the questions can be complex and the answers not so clear & at times, confusing.

3. The road we voyaged was not always paved with gold......there were many bumps, mountains we had to climb and sometimes we had to find our way where the road was completely washed out.

4. We were challenged with tests that we weren't prepared for and we have learned lessons we never wanted to learn;

5. There is something to the saying that " the harder you work, the luckier you get". We did work hard and we had many challenges, but we also experienced much joy and we lived many "high moments”.

6. And to you, my dear Tony, thank you for travelling this road with me. I love you more today than I did 50 years ago.

TONY TODAY:

WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE LEARNED WHILE GROWING UP?

Love needs to be paid forward. There are people in your life that do not like you. Should this be repaid with dislike or even hatred.

Life is not close to always being fair. It is important to realize that your welfare is not  going to     create itself through some supernatural force. Remember
the adage – give me the strength to accept that which I cannot control.

Stop dreaming and start planning on how your skills should be utilized.

Progress as far as you can with a formal education. Resolve to learn from your own mistakes and experiences.

Know what your limits and boundaries are and allow them to become your guidance teacher.

Be a useful and reliable example to your children and or your nieces and nephews.

Deal with differences without holding
grudges “Let it go, just walk away. You are not always right.

There is no “I” in team!

Think it through before accepting a creed or belief from others.

You don’t need to change the world. Concentrate on your small section of it.
