GUIDANCE: BLOG # 2262; FRI SEP 04, 2020 :

THE COMEBACK:

KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF!

YOU’RE THE REASON MY HANDS HAVE A MIDDLE FINGER!

THE MESSAGE:

Guidance, from where does it originate? When does it kick in? Who provides it? Is the provider trustworthy? Does the guidance favour society or is it a selfish attempt at brainwashing? Does the receiver care and absorb it?

In my experience, there are far more questions to  ask about guidance than answers. I believe that guidance must begin at home in an environment that concentrates on nurture, enlightenment and wellness.

Today we hear much talk that concentrates on 'entitlement'. Some of our children are pampered by over protective parents. Many children are raised in hostile environments that do whatever is needed to balance the equation. Far too many offspring are raised in fatherless families or with a parent who is incapable of providing nurture or sustenance or a moral code of values. This reality deprives them of the experience of having any chance at a productive life.

TONY TODAY:

Guidance in a school system is intended to be a means of helping individuals  understand and use wisely the educational, vocational and personal opportunities  available  to make study adjustments and develop their future plans. Ontario schools have additional help in this area from a curriculum in health studies.

While some efforts are being made in our schools, I think that educational systems should provide a 5th year of high school that would concentrate on giving students the benefit of an expanded concept of choices, values and goals for the future. This gap year could include some international travel, some experience in community work, a presentation of  different ethnicity life and needs, and a choice of business or trade experience.

THE PUN:

The difference between deer nuts and beer nuts: Beer nuts are under two dollars, but deer nuts are under a buck.

THE QUESTION:

How much does the lack of guidance effect our society?

THE LEMON:

Awarded to Toronto Mayor Tory for allowing the King Street project to continue.

A better plan:

King Street: 1 way west including street cars. Bike lanes and pedestrian lanes provided.

Queen Street: 1 way east including street cars. Bike lanes and pedestrian lanes provided.

Street cars travel in an oval using both streets.
