ARE WE LOST MOM?

THE MESSAGE:

Canada is a great Nation! We should encourage hard working immigrants to join us; not to perpetuate their own traditions and values, but to accept and assimilate into the cultures of Free Enterprise, the Charter of Rights and Freedom, Compassion and Empathy, the Rule of Law and Unbridled Patriotism.

Canada is a rich nation primarily because of its habits, values and social capital. This concept is further explained by the simple idea that effort should lead to reward. People, through integrity, hard work and a determination to play by the rules, are entitled to be prosperous. Money and wealth should go to people on the basis of merit and enterprise. Self-control should be rewarded while laziness and self-indulgence should not.

THE BLURB:

This however, this doesn’t mean that our community institutions should not nurture responsibility and fairness. Unfortunately this reality can be and often is undermined and eroded. 

We have far too many evils at work: 

• Patronage and waste that divert tax dollars,
• Brokers manipulating securities for personal profit. 
• Fraudulent schemes that steal money from the unsuspecting, 
• Unscrupulous employers who take advantage of their workers
• Governments taking money from future generations to curry favour among present day voters.

Is it any mystery that social trust is sacrificed and suffers? Hence we have over zealous citizens and partisan politicians with hidden agendas; 

• The 'occupy movements', encouraged by unions and motivated by a misguided sense of entitlement.
  

• We have unions that go too far in the name of worker protection only to succeed in pricing them out of employment.

• A surplus of civil servants and government agencies that  falsify their expense claims. 
• Civil servants who are overpaid.

• Social media and fake news.

PIPELINES

I think it’s time to stop giving in to the Rockefeller attempts to cripple our oil production. Man made climate change is a bogus attempt by whomever! Canada requires oil pipe lines in order to survive. Claims that the oil sands are ‘dirty evils,’ hurts our economy and general welfare. Alberta cannot move oil by rail or trucks. QUEBEC needs to remember Lac Megantic and help utilize the refineries in New Brunswick and Quebec. We need to finish the Trans Mountain System to the west and begin ASAP on a new Energy East System. Canada has the third-largest proven oil and gas reserves in the world. We lead in standards and practices in safety, environmental protection and social responsibility. Pipelines are an important industry to Canadians, providing jobs in communities large and small, as well as considerable tax revenues. Pipelines also contribute to our prosperity when we export oil and gas to other countries. 

THE QUESTION:  

Is the Canadian Democracy working? Does it fail when government gets too big?
