  • Accountability
  • The ability to Inspire Others.
  • The ability to make Decisions

THE BLURB:

DIFFERENT TYPES OF LEADERSHIP STYLES

Positive Leaders always keep critical thinking alive. They have a positive or realistic mindset and are constantly keeping up to date with vital facts. They have faith that there will be enough participation for all who desire it. They are not trying to establish winners and losers, rather they are looking for a bigger and better exposure for everyone.

Negative Leaders
Many people dislike their situation because the workplace is devoid of incentive and filled with much disengagement. This routine negativity can lead to a lack of productivity or creativity; which can lead to missed opportunity for success and new ideas. The negative environment also does nothing for general well-being at work.  A ‘boss' who is judgmental and  uncaring  can infect the team with unnecessary stress, unproductive attitudes, remarks, behaviours and an overall lack of trust and teamwork. A spreading stress creates tunnel vision and makes followers vulnerable to judgment errors, jumping to conclusions and becoming defensive.

AUTOCRATIC LEADERSHIP
This makes use of a leadership style characterized by individual control over all decisions and little input from group members. They typically make choices based on their ideas and judgments and rarely accept advice from followers. A distinction can be made between an exploiting and benevolent autocratic leadership style.
In exploiting autocratic leadership, the leader determines what happens, without any contradiction from the subordinates. Let’s get it done!
In benevolent autocratic leadership, the leader still decides what should happen, but explains his reasons to his subordinates after the fact. Although there’s still no participation in this style, it allows for some dialogue that can relieve stress.

DEMOCRATIC LEADERSHIP

Is described as participative  or shared leadership. It is a type of leadership style in which members of the group take a more participative role in the decision-making process and emphasizes collaboration and the free-flow of ideas. While these leaders do allow shared participation in decision-making, they often decide who is a part of the group or committee tasked with making decisions. Responsibility is shared among all members of the group with the leader present to offering guidance and keeping the discussions balanced and controlled.

This style can instil mutual respect among those involved and create candid and open conversations. Democratic leaders are often seen in positions of nonprofit organizations, school boards, and forward-thinking companies.

LAISSEZ-FAIRE LEADERSHIP
is based on trust. People who enjoy a wide degree of latitude in making decisions and working on projects autonomously are often most comfortable with laissez-faire leaders. Do what you want as long as you get the job done right.  build a strong team and then stay out of the way.

Some examples of organizations where laissez-faire leadership works well:
  • Advertising agencies
  • Architecture firms
  • Research and development firms
  • Venture capital investment companies
  • Engineering firms

THE QUESTION:

Can any politicians excel at leadership Or are they ineligible due to their thirst for power and popularity?

THE LEMON:
