WHAT IS TRUTH? BLOG # 2197; FRI JUL-19, 2019

THE COMEBACK:

"YOU’RE A LIAR!”

"WHY BECAUSE I CALLED YOU INTELLIGENT?"

THE MESSAGE:

My father in law would always ask “what is truth?” His nickname was ’The Bear’ but no one ever called  him  the bear to his face out of fear. That is certainly a truth! The person who initiated the name is alive; but, no longer a part of our family!

THE PERSONIFICATION OF TRUTH!

While reflecting on my life stages, I came across an understanding and acceptance of the following truths:

  • Life has a way of teaching us what we need to know when we really need to know it.
  • Forgiveness has a way of straightening the path and levelling a difficult journey.
  • Love has a way of becoming more endearing and abiding as we grow and develop.
  • Happiness has a way of becoming more about what we are than about what we possess.
  • Wisdom has a way of creeping into our souls unexpectedly through sadness as well as joy.
  • Success has a way of measuring itself through the peace and love an individual gives and receives from an amazing partner.
  • Character development is far more important than Reputation.

THE BLURB:

Truth, in metaphysics and the philosophy of language, is accepted as the property of sentences, assertions, beliefs, thoughts, or propositions that are revealed and accepted within the topics up for discussion.

Truth is the aim of a belief; lies are an assumed fault. People need the truth about the world in order to live. Truth is important in order that a society flourishes. Believing what is not true is apt to interfere with a person’s plans and may even cost him his life. Telling or writing that which is not true may result in legal and social penalties. A dedicated pursuit of truth is found by some in the good priest, the good politician, the good scientist, the good historian, the good essayist and the good detective. So what is truth, that it should have such serious implications and such a central place in people’s lives?

For the majority of cults, cultures, and the masses, an individual belief is truth if it sufficiently agrees with, or does not obviously conflict with other accepted truths or beliefs.

THE QUESTION:

Do you believe in man made climate change?
