From where does the growth of happy or unhappy consciousness originate? Through my experience I have come to believe that the life development of a new born child is totally dependant on its parents. Both the mother and the father must be involved. Happiness is reliant on a true sense of conscience developed in a child’s formative years. No direct evidence exists to make this an obvious conclusion; however, there are several scholars who present opinions to any discussion of the concept.
Elliott Leyton, A PhD and Emeritus Professor of Anthropology at Memorial University in Newfoundland, gives insight into the reality of how serial killers originate. Many defence lawyers attempt to excuse the murders through the concept of 'mental illness’.
In his book, Hunting Humans, Leyton declares, "After years of total immersion in the killers’ diaries, confessions, psychiatric interviews, statements to the press, videotapes, and photographs, I see the 'cultural origins' of their motives as obvious and their deformed gratifications as intense."
He concludes that there will be many more such killers before this era of the social history of our civilization ends. Leyton places the emphasis on culture as the main factor in determining the true explanation for mass murder. The lust for revenge, power, gratification or control are often described as the most common motives for serial killings.
If we agree that this is true: then in my opinion, parenting becomes a primary concern and culture comes to the forefront. It is paramount that Western Cultures focus on correcting those issues that are instrumental in bad parenting. It follows that, in order to reduce the frequency of mass murders, it would be extremely helpful to concentrate on ’suitable role models' for children.
PARENTING
A child must be a wanted and planned for. The concept of ‘Baby mommas' should be taboo. The motivation for having children should not be the availability of more money from the government or a wealthy supplier of sperm. Nor should having a child be the result of careless sex. Society must develop strict rules that prohibit unwanted births or 'children of convenience'. Young mothers who are incapable of supporting and nurturing a child should be subject to increased education and supervision. Biological fathers, taking advantage of young women must be identified and similarily dealt with. Pockets of societies that proliferate poor parenting must be eliminated.
A child requires 2 parents, to guide it through life. For the sake of any children, parents must support each other even in the face of a separation or divorce.
Society requires educational facilities, with trained professionals that take over the development of an unplanned birth. No child should be left in the care of an unsuited parent.
It is the responsibility of the parent(s) to help children develop a conscience. This is accomplished by a child watching and learning what the parents do in day to day situations. That is the reason that parents need to spend much time with their children in order to give them sound moral principals by being a good role model.
Carlos Rico Walker (March 22, 1976 – September 21, 2016), known professionally as Shawty Lo, was an American rapper from Bankhead, Atlanta.
His excuses as quoted:
1. “My mother was on drugs as a child; my father was elsewhere; my grandmother raised me and she died from cancer when I was seventeen … I came to be probably one of the largest drug dealers to come from the Atlanta-Bankhead area, and uh, I started having kids. When the money came, a lot of women came. I wasn’t trying to have babies, but I was talking to these women and, you know, once you feel like a girl was your girlfriend, or whatever, you know, the rubber probably came off.”
2. "They wouldn’t have an abortion; they would take the money and run with it. Just so they can have a baby by the most poppin-est guy in the streets. So that’s how I had all them kids."
3. "A lot of [fathers] don’t take care of one. I take care of 11 … 9 girls and 2 boys. Y’all take that responsibility. You can hate all you want to, I didn’t ask for it, it just happened. And now that it happened, I’m supposed to turn my back against it? If I wasn’t taking care of my kids, then y’all a really dog me out, but I taking care of my kids, providing for my family. I don’t know what else to say."
Henry Lee Lucas, the thirteenth child of a prostitute mother, appeared on national television and confessed to torturing and murdering hundreds of women. Most of his claims came from his twisted imagination, and not reality. The result of his declaration was national fear and a lack of any real and effective solutions.
Lucas' mother would force him to watch her have sex with clients and cross dress in public. He began his criminal career in 1960 when, at the age of twenty-three, he stabbed his mother to death in her bed.
THE MEDIA
The plethora of news coverage and other publicity helps bring the concept of mass murder to the forefront. The coverage usually focuses on ‘grizzly details’ and provides little or no clues to understanding the phenomenon.
THE CANADIAN SYSTEM
Madilyn Rebecca Harks, formerly Matthew Ralf Harks, 36, is residing in a Brampton halfway house as of Friday, March 22, 2019. The convicted pedophile with a lengthy history of preying on young girls is now living as a woman in a Brampton halfway house. The mayor of Brampton, Patrick Brown declared, “This is a pedophile with multiple convictions including three convictions of sexual assault against girls under the age of 8 and this monster has claimed to have victimized 60 girls. The fact that Ms. Harks is in a halfway house instead of jail is a clear example that our justice system is broken.”
Police said she is believed to be “at an elevated risk to re-offend,” so they will be working with Correctional Services “to monitor Harks’ activities within the community.”
Do the media and Justice System actually amply the problems of mass murder and sexual abuse?
Awarded to all individuals practicing unsafe sex.
THE QUOTE:
"In 1985, I was living with my sister in Virginia, and since I was still in high school, I worked at McDonald's to save money to get an abortion. It sounds really terrible, but it was the best decision I ever made. It was the first time I took responsibility for my actions. I messed up, had sex without contraception, and got pregnant at 15.
