LOVE AND MARRIAGE; BLOG # 2153; FRI SEP 07,2018

THE MESSAGE:

In some cultures, choice is not an option. One example lies in an  arranged marriage by the family rather than a mutual love.

In other cases, some devise a marriage of convenience in order that one spouse is allowed to enter or remain in the country of choice.

In other situations, couples are formed as a result of an unplanned birth.  Others marry for money or social status.

People living in a free society have the right to choose whomever they select as a partner for a committed relationship such as marriage.

THE BLURB:

Self-confidence and relationships are inextricably linked and wildly complicated. Both are very fragile and dependent on total control of one’s ego.

Life dictates that people’s attitude and behaviour change as they age. People tend to grow apart. Marriage takes much sacrifice and learning in order for the relationship to survive. Time is not an ally. Nor are the myriads of distractions present in today’s societies. A selfless love, honesty, respect and understanding give the relationship time to solidify. Once it does, marriage becomes a one way street. There will be no no need to reverse the course!

BIRTH

The birth of a child is the most precious of gifts. It is a sad reality that some who father a child can’t understand the responsibility that goes along with it. To abandon a child is the most egregious of sins and the deepest mystery of life. The animal side of human nature makes it possible for any moron to provide the seeds of fertilization. Somewhere along the line, the notion of responsibility has disappeared for far too many males and cultures. In some cultures, the concept of 'Baby Mommas' is allowed to prevail in order that families might increase their income through larger 'welfare cheques' from the government.

THE FAMILY

A happy family is generally thought of as a close knit group that supports and loves each member with an abiding and selfless love. There is nothing that is more important and necessary than family. Some families find their entity distracted by possessions and greed or the realities of poverty and disadvantage Others are impacted by jealousy and discrimination.

More devastating to a family is the sudden, unexpected loss of a member due to illness, societal evils, natural disasters, war or some form of inhumanity. Strong families are capable of overcoming such tragedies. Surely every father who loses a child is haunted by the thought, “ I should have been a better father”. The feeling never goes away; the loss never ebbs, but life goes on.

For those souls, deprived of a working familial bond, there can be no denying the responsibility of a free and civilized society.

Every member of a tribe or nation needs to care for individuals who find themselves abandoned or alone. The fly in the ointment is found in the intransigence of some, the indifference of many or the insincerity of the pretenders.

THE QUESTION:

Is there anything more precious than a loving family?

THE LEMON:

Awarded to rapper 'LIL WAYNE.' He sired four children with four different mothers without realizing the importance of paternal guidance and role models.

"It is not a lack of love, but a lack of friendship that makes unhappy marriages." Friedrich Nietzsche
