THE COMEBACK:
What do you think you’re doing?
THE MESSAGE:
Why do we tolerate the preachers of doom? "Green Idiots” are all around us! Are we preaching climate change in our education studies? Many predictions of mankind destroying the planet have proven themselves to be untrue. Nature can look out for itself! It has been doing so for eons. Mankind is far too trivial to have any effect on it. I am tired of the argument that says "I am worried for my grandchildren and their children". (Probably they will have texted themselves into a comatose state before the planet disappears.) Let's worry about the millions of people who are starving all around us instead of polar bears, rhinos, caribou, little fishes in the California aquifer, the life cycle of bugs etc. Granted ticks and mosquitos are a pain in the ass; however, we seem to have done ok without dinosaurs.
The Keystone pipeline is a classic example of failed thinking. We still have environmental extremists praising its cancellation in spite of today’s economic issues in the USA. Never mind that it would create hundreds of thousands of jobs and put many people back to work. How can a hard working middle income earner afford a high priced electric car? Idiots would counter by saying he could make up the difference by savings on the high price of gasoline!
TONY TODAY:
Most Americans are confused, baffled, and don't know much about the impact of the cancelled Keystone XL pipeline. Let’s ask Biden: ha ha ha. The general public has a wide array of varying opinions surrounding the development and implementation of said pipeline. Why are people confused, baffled and apathetic? One possible reason is politics. The proposed pipeline has been a political hot topic, and both political parties may be stretching the truth. Republicans, along with TransCanada, continue to overstate the amount of jobs we're talking about with this project. On the other side, Democrats have been citing safety and the environment as reasons this project should not move forward. Americans are caught in the middle, with various media outlets providing various numbers surrounding pros and cons to this project.
ONE EXAMPLE
Keystone proponents declare that it will add construction jobs 20,000 of them. This is a huge area of misinformation. Recently, Cornell University completed an independent assessment which stated the project may produce between 2,500-4,650 jobs and could even cost the country jobs in the years ahead! It's no wonder Americans are confused and conflicted. This is a typical example of how politics and biased media coverage can be manipulated.
