WHAT TIME IS IT? BLOG #2318; FRI OCT 01, 2021
THE COMEBACK:
HEY DOCTOR WHAT MAKES
YOU THINK YOUR SO SMART?
I’M NOT A PROCTOLOGIST
BUT I KNOW AN ASSHOLE
WHEN I SEE ONE!
THE MESSAGE:
Time is best approached, in the first place, as something you use. Is our society living in their idea of what the future will hold? Should we be concerned with switching from dependancy on oil products to sources of renewable energy? Will the cars and vehicles of tomorrow be electrical? How will we heat our homes? Will the cost of producing electrical power put a hold on electrical sources of fuel and power? I do not advocate living in the past; however, I think the pendulum needs to swing towards the centre of where we are now and what we foresee in the future.
TONY TODAY:
Presently there is much greed in the world. The various political realities that exist in our world result in so much evil and selfishness. The so-called United Nations has no power when it comes to fixing parts of the world that are replete with starving or neglected children. Education around the globe is sadly pushed to the back burner. Women and young girls are neglected.
Big oil and banks, among others do make sizeable profits; however, they create jobs. Let's blame our governments and Lobbyists for helping to create loopholes that allow them to avoid paying as much tax as they should.
We are bombarded with advertising (how much does this add to the final cost of the product to the consumer? Between 20 and 25 percent of TV ads are from car manufacturers). Pharmaceutical companies convince us that they have pills to cure all our ailments. Many Canadians have more money in insurance than in a savings account. We max out our credit cards and pay huge interest fees on the overdue balance.
Military budgets are huge. Some cities in the USA are entirely dependent on them. Governments don't create productive jobs. They create civil servants and wasted money.
There can be no doubt that businesses create jobs. Governments should leave job creation to industry and business by removing barriers to expansion and privatizing much of our infrastructure. Let them refrain from handing out public monies to big companies. Entrepreneurs will find their own way to get the job done.
