THE MESSAGE:
According to Darwin, all species of organisms arise and develop through the natural selection of small, inherited variations that increase the individual's ability to compete, survive, and reproduce.
MAN
The irony of evolution: In the good old days, the TV sets used to be bulky, the human head thin, and the human brain small. As man evolved, the TV sets developed larger screens and lighter bodies. Man's head got larger but in many cases his brain stayed small.
The picture below says all that is necessary to say. His tools allowed for a more varied stance but in the end man's posture regressed.
PRIORITIES
As man's body and mind evolved his needs changed. The change in needs was accompanied by a remarkable shift in priorities. His small brain shrank, his large brain became more possession oriented and his bodily functions ruled his thinking.
WOMEN AS LEADERS
The footsteps below reveal an interesting development in the evolution of power. Today we have several women in leadership roles and influential positions. In 2013 in Canada, five of our Provincial Premiers were women. This year Forbes listed nine female Heads of State who run nations with a combined GDP of $11.8 trillion — including the No. 1 Power Woman, German Chancellor Angela Merkel. There are 24 corporate women CEOs who control $893 billion in annual revenues. 16 of the women listed by Forbes founded their own companies. There are 14 billionaire women totalling in excess of $82 billion.
In numbers too big to ignore
And I know too much to go back an' pretend
'Cause I've heard it all before
And I've been down there on the floor
No one's ever gonna keep me down again
Oh yes, I am wise
But it's wisdom born of pain
Yes, I've paid the price
But look how much I gained
If I have to, I can do anything
I am strong
(Strong)
I am invincible
(Invincible)
I am woman
MY MOM USED TO SAY:
"VOGLIALO FATTO BENE, CHIEDONO AD UNA DONNA" (Want it done right, ask a woman)
"It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it."-ARISTOTLE
INSTITUTIONS
Has our Education model failed to evolve? School boards in Ontario are afraid of parents and create policies that are to be followed by the schools in their jurisdictions. Many Board members are preoccupied with covering their hind ends as they travel with determination along the road of political influence.
Teachers in the classroom are afraid of parents who are quick to point out the mistakes made by educators. They stress the wonderful attributes of their children and the failures of the system to meet parental expectations.
Parents are afraid of their children failing, being disadvantaged or loosing control of them. Students are afraid of nothing but becoming unpopular, not fitting in, peer pressures and bullying.

WIMP OF THE WEEK AWARD:
This week it goes to: |
VLADIMIR PUTIN: For trying to look like James Bond and posing as the saviour of the Crimean peninsula while creating an international crisis. Following a change of government in Ukraine, Russian forces effectively seized control of the Crimea, an autonomous republic with historical ties to Russia. Sevastopol is a strategic location as it contains Russian and Ukrainian naval bases and provides key access to the Black Sea and, via the Bosporus Strait, the Mediterranean.
