WHAT IS LOVE? BLOG # 2223; FRI FEB 14, 2020

THE COMEBACK:

 BUT HE LOVES ME.

YOU’RE PATHETIC! IF I THREW A STICK YOU WOULD LEAVE RIGHT?

THE MESSAGE:

How many times have you voiced or even heard “she or he is the love of my life”? Song writers have made the concept of love very common in our lives. I believe that it is impossible to compare one kind of love to another. As we progress in life it is very obvious to me that true love and happiness are interrelated.

TONY TODAY:

I have taken the liberty to list several examples of love in my lifelong experience:

A newborn’s love for a mother can’t be compared but it certainly can be explained as a total dependancy on another human being. The mother is beyond the moon!

As a child grows up in a nurturing family she or he loves the father and mother who provide loving role models and who, together, demonstrate the concepts of leading a moral existence while accomplishing so many admirable goals.

The teenage years present many challenges. Friends become tremendous challenges to the direction and authority of the parents. Distractions are many and varied. Young teenaged girls and boys are vulnerable to the ‘heartthrob’ reality and the myriad complications that ensue.

Back in the day, young adults in their early twenties decide to become married. In some cases premarital sex resulted in an unwanted birth which presented the realities of heartbreak, abandonment, parental disavowal, rash decisions and other unwelcome consequences.

Today, throughout the world, young adults are being recruited to causes or organizations that present complicated ideas related to the 'love and heart' of the matter.

The reality of true love is never more obvious than those feelings that occur with the loss of a child!  Your world collapses. Is there no justice? Why did God allow this? The painful feeling is enough to arouse a disbelief in any supreme being.

THE MID LIFE CRISIS

As an individual reaches the mysterious but common years of ’the mid-life crisis’ a new set of distractions surface. The jury is out on the actual reasons for this ‘phase of life’. Does it occur because of boredom, apathy, new interests, jealousy, betrayal, pain, brainwashing, hidden desire, mood swings, obsession, physical appearance, etc.

THE MALE

Looking inward, some men feel “an uneasy mixture of nostalgia, regret, claustrophobia, emptiness, and fear. In their future, they see a sequence of their past accomplishments in light of retirement, decline, and death. Where am I headed? Is my Life pointless? It will not end well.

THE FEMALE

Some women have a tendency to stop and pause during midlife and question whether they're on the right track. They feel the need to present a strong evaluation about where they wanted to be in life versus where they actually are. Maybe they realize they've been following the dreams preached to them by parents or the "rules" of society. Feelings of soul, and crisis arise.

THE MUSIC:

MY OLD AGE
Thank God for family! With the passing of my beautiful wife, I have lost my way. This women was loving, forgiving, kind, intelligent, responsible and loyal.

Although I am deeply saddened and without a positive direction, my reason for wanting to remain in this life can be traced to a strong and loving family with 16 beautiful grandchildren.

THE QUESTION:

What is true love and when do you become aware of it?
