BLOG 58; DEC 14, 2012. TECHNOLOGY

The city was cloaked in the darkness of the hour but it did not sleep. A persistent haze obscured the tops of the tallest buildings. A stream of automobile headlights filled the streets. From time to time  traffic lights interrupted their steady flow. A siren whined in the distance while an angry automobile blasted its horn. A trolly lumbered by; devoid of passengers yet confident in purpose. The sidewalks were not crowded but people were scurrying in various directions to some unknown fate.

At this early hour, Tony was sure of only one thing. They were out there, in the darkness and gloom. They kept up their urgent pulse. Some chirped and some crackled, impatient to be acknowledged; while others neatly and silently spelled out their messages. Thousands of them filled the air; invisivble, mostly undetected, yet constant and persistent.......
