Tony @ 10, November 25 - "Green Idiots" Abound!

Why do we tolerate the preachers of doom?  "Green Idiots" abound!   Nature can look out for itself!  It has been doing so for eons.  Mankind is far too trivial to have any effect on it.  I am tired of the argument that says " I am worried for my grandchildren and their children".  (Most likely  they will have texted themselves to death before the planet disappears.)  Let's worry about the millions of people who are starving all around us instead of polar bears, rhinos, caribou, little fishes in the California aquifer, etc.  We seem to have done well without dinosaurs.

The Keystone pipeline is a classic example.  Nebraska worked out a compromise. We still have environmental extremists advocating for its cancellation.  Never mind that it would create hundreds of thousands of jobs and put many of the "OCCUPY" protesters back to work.

We all need WISDOM AND FORESIGHT to see, FAITH to believe in what we see, and COURAGE TO ACT.

Tony, tony, tony! Virtually every credible scientist on earth agree that we are having a seriously detrimental effect on this planet. The only ones who disagree are the "payed" propagandists for Big oil, coal and corporate interests who only care about their profits. Climate change is indisputable. Yes.....the planet will still be revolving around the sun, but your and my grandchildren and great grandchildren might not be here to see it! Should we care? We can live " high off the hog" in the short term if it's worth gambling their future on. We are all willing to invest in "sure thing" economic returns that will get us richer and richer; bigger houses, vacation homes, bigger cars, etc., but we aren't willing to invest in a healthy future for our children. Greed and selfishness enable otherwise smart people to rationalize our assault on this planet. It's all about economic expediency. Greed and religious idealogy are carrying us all straight to hell. Capitalism and market driven economies lead to winners and losers .....in this case we are the winners , our ancestors the losers. Take a read on Jeffery Sachs book, "The Price of Civilization". He expresses these thoughts much more articulately .
