HONESTY: BLOG # 2292: FRI APR 02, 2021

THE COMEBACK:

I thought of you today. It reminded me to take out the trash.

You’re the reason God created the middle finger.

THE MESSAGE:

It’s hot in here! Am I really really on fire? It was only a little white lie!

HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU HEARD THESE?
  • A lie is a lie is a lie.
  • The truth shall set you free!
  • Bending the truth a little is OK.
  • Lawyers don't lie nor do teachers.
  • Political lies are part of the game.
  • You only hurt the one you love.
  • It goes without saying!
  • You can take that to the bank!
  • Do you solemnly swear to tell the truth.....?
  • I make you this promise.
  • Say it ain't so Joe.
  • It only hurts for a little while.
  • Rules are for everyone else!
  • Everyone cheats a little.
  • Every evil deed involves a lie!
  • There are no sins but lies.
  • Lies are never white.
  • Sleeping dogs don't lie neither do dogs awake.
  • Truth disguised is truth denied.

OR PICK THIS ONE!

HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY!

TONY TODAY:

WHICH ONE IS LYING?

DO PEOPLE SAY THIS ABOUT YOU?

Every time he opens his mouth a lie comes out!

CHECK IT OUT

OR THIS? YOU ARE LYING THROUGH YOUR TEETH:

Are the teeth clenched or apart?  The tighter the clench, the more convinced the liar is, of the truth in his or her words.

If the teeth are hidden, it probably means that the liar is telling himself the truth surreptitiously.
This may be as a result of the liar having been caught in his or her prevarication and took a  punch to the mouth as a result.

EEW YUCK!

Or it could be that the liar was SO convinced he or she was always telling the truth; that the constant clenching  resulted in a loosening and subsequent loss of some teeth.

Or 'sugar coating' of an opinion could have resulted in a rotting of the teeth.

OR THIS? YOU ALWAYS RAISE YOUR VOICE WHEN YOU LIE.

The wider the mouth, the more surprised the liar is at how convincing he or she sounds.

LYING THROUGH OTHER BODY PARTS:

Is the nose involved? If so it would tend to lessen the credibility of the lie; therefore, it is probaly safe to rule this out.

If a person farts and tries to blame it on his or her young grandchild, is this lying through your ass ?

The 'Eagles' presented another possibility by spinning the tale of some rueful fortune hunter 'You can't hide your lying eyes'!

Some people can't avoid a slight ear wiggle when trying to deflect the truth.

Toe tapping in the middle of a tall tale, in the absence of any music, can be an easy way to recognize a lie.

Suffice it to say that the human body is a billboard capable of telling anyone listening that they are in the presence of heaps of excrement from the male equine.

Maybe I could be a
cab driver instead.

SOME OTHER TECHNIQUES IN THE ART OF LYING:

Exaggeration

A favourite weapon in TV advertisement.” MEET YOUR MATCH” tries to lure adventures to challenge difficult terrain.  Please explain why "EXPERT ADVICE" from a hardware store” is really possible  or "THERE'S NEVER BEEN A BETTER TIME.." or "WATCHING TV JUST GOT BETTER...".

Optics,
It is not possible to enjoy a hockey game unless you are at a noisy pub with a bunch of like-minded fans drinking beer and hooting.

Hollow Promises,
"YOU DON'T PAY, UNLESS WE RECOVER MONEY FOR YOU."

Deadlines,
"ACT NOW, TIME IS RUNNING OUT. THE EARLY-BIRD DEADLINE IS FAST APPROACHING".

Fear of consequences,

"ASK YOU DOCTOR..." OR "DON'T MISS OUT...".

Rhetoric,
When questioned he or she avoids  the real answer through the use of artful dodging.

THE MUSIC:

Honesty (Lyrics Video)-Billy Joel

THE STUFF:

THE PUN:

Time may be a great healer but it’s a lousy beautician.

THE QUESTION:

Is honesty really just a game?

THE LEMON:

AWARDED TO Andrea Horvath for her shady criticisms and false promises

THE QUOTE:

TWEET TWEET
"Richard Nixon is a no good, lying bastard. He can lie out of both sides of his mouth at the same time, and if he ever caught himself telling the truth, he'd lie just to keep his hand in.” Harry S. Truman
