The practice of communication is a multi faceted concept among the citizens and cultures of the world. Some people attend places of worship, religious retreats, political rallies, business  seminars, motivational conventions, etc.  We are often exposed to motivational speakers, preachers, teachers, professors and politicians on TV and social media. Some of us lay awake in bed at night and  reflect on past experiences.   

TONY TODAY:

Our options in selecting the music we listen to are plentiful. We can listen quietly or sing, dance, jump around and hoot. Cher recorded a song titled ‘If I could turn back time”. The message is clearly that there exist mistakes in our past. I believe that most of us would feel that, if we had a second chance, we would act or talk differently.  

For those of us who enjoy reading there are serious works on human philosophy, history, adventure and accomplishment. We can read the classics or find enjoyment in novels.

Documentaries and movies present every scenario possible. drama, love stories, comedy, tragedy and science fiction. Media presentations are filled with accounts of wars, murders, crimes of passion, greed, heartache, poverty and human suffering.  

What effect do these things have on our ability to process information and choose the parts that make sense to us while rejecting those that do not? Are the effects consciously received or are they subliminal? Do they affect our life permanently or are they fleeting mind assaults that hold no lasting value?
