ONTARIO'S YOUTH WANTS TO KNOW

MS. WYNNE, WHY DON’T YOU TELL IT LIKE IT IS?

Why tell me industrial wind turbines are good for my future, when they’re not?

Why tell me a turbine that can produce 1.5 MWH when it only works 27% of the time and 85% of that time mostly at night, when not needed?

Why are you guaranteeing wind producers 11.5¢ per KWH and prioritizing their generation over hydro electric power at 3.5¢ KWH and nuclear power at 6.5¢ KWH? Why is your government shutting down hydro plants and sometimes nuclear ones? Why are you selling costly wind energy to the states at an inflated loss?

I heard my daddy complaining about his electricity bill. He wanted to know why you are giving him a ‘Clean Energy Benefit’ when there is no benefit. He was upset about the "Green Energy Act" and said something about where the sun doesn't shine anymore.

Why tell me wind energy is for the future, when its future ends as the 20 year contracts expire. Already many European

countries are trying to get out of their wind power obligations.

Where will we be when wind power proves to be too costly to maintain and we don’t have an adequate infrastructure of hydro, nuclear and gas generation to replace it?

I think this is a situation that needs a little adult supervision right now! In 20 years, I’ll be raising a family and needing a job.
