In Ontario, the McGuinty Liberal Party, introduced the 'Green Energy Act' which handcuffed Municipalities in their efforts to resist the movement to wind Turbines as a reliable source of power that was 'eco friendly'. It has become painfully clear that the truth behind the 'Green Movement' is MONEY. Not money to achieve a beneficial outcome for the people of the Province. Money to line the pockets of business (SAMSUNG) who sell their bogus ideas to the government and find willing allies in groups that pose as charitable foundations to advance their pitch.
"With McGuinty and his Canadian cheerleader, David Suzuki, looking on, Al Gore declared the premier’s Green Energy Act (GEA) was “widely recognized now as the single best green energy program on the North American continent.” (TorSun-Goldstein).

A naive government led by McGuinty had jumped in with both feet. It shut down coal fired plants, cancelled gas fired projects and sent millions of dollars to South Korea to build wind turbines. The Liberals were lobbied by companies who saw an opportunity to make money on an untested technology. The 'Greenies' of the Province rallied to the cause.

Last week Karen and I spent 2 full days on Manitoulin Island. It has 12,000 citizens and the wind companies want to build 600mw of wind power. (Since reduced to 77mw).The island uses only 16mw at its peak.
They are draining wetlands and bulldozing forest for a massive transmission corridor because they have to ship the power off the island.
By the time they get it to an off island station they have effectively lost 65% of the power; not to mention there is no demand for the power.
This beautiful island has been shattered. We were even followed by the wind developers security teams...it's a totally fascist state...somebody needs to come to their senses....They are building there because the folks on Manitoulin Island are poor and powerless...
IN MY BACKYARD:
Hey, I just figured it out. I am a 'GREENIE YIMBY'. Yes In My Back Yard. I have trees that soak up all the carbon emissions that my family produces. Also my son built me a clothesline, costing $15; where, on sunny and breezy days I use solar and wind energy to dry the clothes. WAAAHOOO!
