THESE ISSUES GIVE ME A HEADACHE
1. THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD
“Moslem” (as opposed to “ Muslim”) is considered insulting or somehow anti-Moslem.
The example of Morsi’s demise in Egypt is convincing proof
that democracy can never succeed in Muslim Countries. The Muslim Brotherhood
has encountered problems in Egypt, Turkey, Syria and Algeria. I believe it is
time for western democratic powers to withdraw from Arab lands and countries
that believe in secular rule. What are the reasons for intervention and
influence? Are oil, greed, religion and
the thirst for power good enough reasons for western corporations and
missionaries to attempt to control these parts of the world? At greater issue, and much more difficult to
comprehend, is the propensity for followers of Islam to resort to violence in
the name of a supreme being.
2. RACISM IN AMERICA
Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are the two biggest racists
in the USA. They encourage people to rally and rail against white people at
every situation that involves the pursuit of justice whenever it pertains to a
black person.
JACKSON: “When we're [blacks] unemployed, we're
called lazy; when the whites are unemployed it's called a depression.”
SHARPTON: “White
folks was in the caves while we [blacks] was building empires … We built
pyramids before Donald Trump ever knew what architecture was … we taught
philosophy and astrology and mathematics before Socrates and them Greek homos
ever got around to it.”
The frustration and humiliation of Blacks and Latinos, who
are ‘stopped and frisked’ more often than whites, is understandable. The reluctance of people to come forward and
talk to the police is not. Crime prevention should not be a problem restricted
to the police force. A concerted, effective effort by authorities, schools neighbourhood
watch groups, witnesses and parents should be the rule. If people are unwilling
to co-operate to solve problems internally, what choices are left other than
profiling, increased police patrols and ‘stop and frisk’ for troubled
neighbourhoods?

POLITICS

Canadian Senate...at work? |
Salaries,
pensions, expense accounts and lack of accountability to the people are
trademarks of the Canadian Senate. The US Senate is hamstrung by partisan
politics. Get rid of the ‘boondoggle’ Senate and replace the political scene
with a Republican system that truly respects the needs of constituents. Ban
Lobbyists. Citizens should be able to vote for each level of government:
Representative, Senator and Leader regardless of which party they represent. Representatives
and elected Senators should spend the majority of time in their constituency
rather than in the legislature arguing like bratty kids, digging up dirt or
defending the party line. It is obvious that in most cases, the party system
does not truly represent the will of the population.

REFUGEES

THE FINISH LINE AT THE BOSTON MARATHON 2013 |
In
Canada and the USA, our governments have opened the door to people from regions
that have been ravaged by hatred, tribal violence, or natural disasters. These
people have come to our countries in search of a better life for their
families. Many of them assimilate to our way of life but too many do not. The
terrorist ‘plants’ at the Boston Marathon, the bomb plot to attack the rail
service between Toronto and New York and the Massachusetts South Shore
arsonists are three recent examples. These people do not deserve our justice
system. I say, “Hang ‘em high”. Instead we dick around and worry about
international law or a civilized society. Terrorists do not belong in a
civilized society!
5.
RELIGION
I
looked up the word. My headache began to get worse.
Webster presented the following:
1) The service and worship of God or the supernatural
2) Commitment or devotion to religious faith or observance
3) A personal or institutionalized set of religious attitudes, beliefs, and practices
4) Archaic, scrupulous conformity
5) A cause, principle, or system of beliefs held to with ardor and faith

Problems
I have with any religion:
Religion
can rob individuals of the ability to think for oneself.
Religion
often results in ‘missionaries’ trying to ‘convert’ others to their beliefs.
Religion
can spread EVIL as well as GOOD.
Religion
can give rise to extremism and wars.
Religion
can cause division among the world’s peoples.
Religion
often is outdated
Religion
can be convenient in times of grief.
Religion
can create artificial boundaries.
My
head is throbbing!
AND ON THE LIGHTER SIDE…………

TORONTO’S SPORTS TEAMS
THE
LEAFS
How
long must the league’s most valuable franchise be deprived of a number one
draft pick when a super star comes along. Fans should stay away! Once a
franchise gets a first pick. It should go to the end of the line. Equalization
can be achieved in a more efficient and equitable manner. Do away with
guaranteed contracts. Help a talent-deprived outfit with a free agent instead
of a draft pick.
THE
BLUE JAYS
John
Gibbons has no ability to motivate a team. He insists on going into games with
a bad batting order, no game plan, and a weak defense. He appears to ignore
signposts such as: Runners stranded in scoring position, second inning let down
by pitchers and bad fundamentals. All Star Coaching Staff? Seriously? Fire his ass!
THE
RAPTORS
Does
anybody really care? The NBA is a terrible product. It allows free agent
players to conspire and choose which team they will go to. It tolerates loser types
such as Vince Carter who admitted to not giving 100% while playing for Toronto.
It puts up with jackasses like Dennis Rodman, Lebron James, Metta World Peace
and Carmelo Anthony; to name a few. I much prefer watching the college game.
QUESTION FOR THE WEEK:
What would a world be like without war, politics, tribes, borders or religion?
