HYPOCRISY: BLOG # 2195; FRI JUL 05, 2019

THE MESSAGE:

Former US Presidential Candidate, Al Gore appears to be more concerned with his reputation and popularity rather than his character?

His public presentation of “An Inconvenient Truth" would indicate a large degree of hypocrisy on his part. According to the report, compiled from public records requests and information from the Nashville Electric Service, Gore’s 20-room, 10,070 square foot mansion consumed an average of 19,241 kilowatt-hours per month. This adds up to more than 21 times the usage of the average U.S. household. His consumption included 66,159 kwh yearly just to heat his swimming pool.

THE BLURB:

The mainstream media has fully bought in to his climate change hysteria and steadfastly refuses to report the findings of any inconvenient studies that run contrary to the narrative. It has studiously ignored the findings of the National Center for Public Policy Research.

Gore claims that he does not own a private jet; however, investigation reveals that he uses them often. The media seldom reports on the contribution of air travel to carbon and other greenhouse gas emissions. Is this because they have a secret deal with airlines that they will not publicize this issue?

Many human beings, blessed with a wealth that allows them to use air travel to enhance their experiences and see the world, continue to rail about the devastating effects of fossil fuels. Is this Hypocrisy?

Aviation data companies exist that keep track of most of the aircraft in our skies. And according to them, in the past year there were an average of 9,728 planes, carrying 1,270,406 people, in the sky at any given time.

Aircraft emit staggering amounts of CO2, the most prevalent manmade greenhouse gas. In fact they currently account for some 11 percent of CO2emissions from U.S. transportation sources and 3 percent of the United States’ total CO2 emissions. All told, the United States is responsible for nearly half of worldwide CO2 emissions from aircraft.

THE QUESTION:

What would the world do without air travel?
