THE MESSAGE:

A wise man once said that life on this planet is too short. Another wise man said that life on earth is too long. There comes a time in  life when one must rid the soul of all the pointless drama created by lonely and discouraging people that one encounters. Rather, we should seek out the positive experiences in life provided by caring individuals with realistic and contagious attitudes.

LIFE IS TOO SHORT?
Consider some of the common philosophical phrases in use today.

Life is too short to seek vengeance or to bear a lasting grudge or to waste one's life remaining in a constant state of anger, impatience, jealousy or ignorance.

 
Life is too short for a man to work so hard. Many men lose their way by placing their total effort to exist on a positive visibility that may or not be reality.

Life is too short to be petty, stubborn or uncaring. Man is a real man when he feels deeply, acts boldly, and expresses himself with frankness and with fervour. All this assuming he does not run afoul of the law. 

Life is too short but it's up to each of us to make it sweet! Enjoy your life while you can: it can be taken without lead up or notice.

Life is too short to waste on activities that "kill time". Before you know it Time kills you!

Life is too short to wait for promises or decisions of others. If you want something don't wish it; do it. Don't dwell on what might have been. All of the above seem to actually speak of an impending doom. They advise that a waste of time and energy could be very costly; therefore,  one should avoid the possibility that our life will be too short and filled with regrets.

HOWEVER,  SOME  BELIEVE THAT LIFE IS TOO LONG.

"I've always hated when people say, "life is too short". For me 26 and a half years is more than enough. I've lived on earth and really just don't care for it. If I was gone tomorrow I'd be quite fine with that. There's nothing left for me. 26 year old virgin with no job or no qualifications, I have anxiety and panic attacks most days and suffer from depression. I've had more than enough of this so called wonderful thing called life." 

"It seems to me as if life for most people just goes on too long. .past the fun and useful parts, into the dull and routine, and then the painful and awful parts . . . I think it should be condensed down to 40 or so years. "

A 60 year old mentally ill man committed suicide because he didn't want to get old. 

A couple planned to have themselves frozen at age 50 and kept on ice until the aging problem was solved.

A grandmother in her fifties is afflicted with a brain aneurism and lapses into a coma for 8 years before she passes away. Before the comma she saw the 12 apostles beckoning her to follow them. She asked her family to let her go.

Many musical entertainers die at very early ages. Their lives are totally dedicated to concerts, recordings, interviews or travel. 

But then there's Gordon Lightfoot celebrating his 80th birthday playing his 80th show of 2018.

Some singers die of drug overdose or illness others from the desire to please a loved one. Perhaps in cases surrounding the lives of Elvis Presley, Karen Carpenter, Andy Gibb or John Denver, one could argue that their lives were too long for them but too short for their fans. 

Too soon old, too late wise!
