COMMENT OF THE WEEK, BLOG 17

Ontario needs to change the focus of Secondary School Education. We should return to the days of 5-year programs. Year 5 should be devoted to helping students make choices about life after Secondary School. And parents need to analyze their own expectations of their children’s future. All grads do not need to attend a University.

I believe it would be a good idea to allow for a year of development after Secondary School before enrolling in a post secondary program. This would give young people the chance to work, travel or do research and develop a personal five-year plan required for post secondary admission.
